Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour

  • 2 cups granulated Sugar

  • 3/4 cups Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

  • 1 tablespoon Baking Soda

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Salt

  • 2 large Eggs

  • 1 cup Buttermilk

  • 1 cup boiling Water

  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil

  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Instructions

Heat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 C). Prepare two 9-inch cake pans by greasing and dusting with flour.

Combine the dry ingredients in the bowl of a stand-up mixer. Then add all wet ingredients (eggs, buttermilk, water, oil as well as vanilla extract) into a bowl, using a whisk to combine. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix in the stand-up mixer on medium speed for two minutes until the batter is smooth.

Divide the batter among the pans.

Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes. When inserting a toothpick into the center, it should come out clean.

Let them cool and frost with the preferred frosting.
