Preheat oven to 350 °F.
In a large bowl, add unsalted butter and sugar. Using a whisk, cream until mixture is light and fluffy. Keep whisking for about 5 minutes.

Whisk in egg, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract mixing until incorporated.

Add all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda to a second bowl. Mix well using a clean whisk.

Using a rubber spatular, fold in flour mixture into the egg mixture, and fold until there is no sign of flour leftover. Be careful not to over mix as this will result in drier, less moist cookies.

Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Drop by tablespoon full onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from oven, then place on a cooling rack or serve warm and enjoy.
