  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup Arrowroot Starch

  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning

Wet Mix
  • 1 Egg

  • 1/4 cup Whole Milk

  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning

  • Oil for frying

Tartar Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise

  • 1 teaspoon Cucumber Relish

  • 1 tablespoon Lime Juice

  • 1 tablespoon Fresh dill - minced

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

  • ½ teaspoon Dijon Mustard

  • Salt & Black Pepper to taste

Instructions

Popcorn Shrimp

Mix the dry mix in a bowl and set it aside

Beat the wet mix together in a bowl and set aside

Prepare cooling station using a baking tray and a drying rack or paper towels

Prepare the frying station using a heavy bottom pot or deep fryer with oil at 350 °F /180 °C

Prepare the shrimp by peeling, removing the tails, and deveining.

Prepare the shrimp for frying by coating them in the dry mix, then coating in the wet mixture, and then coating in the dry mix and repeating with each piece of shrimp.

Fry the shrimp for 2-3 minutes, then remove from the oil using a slotted spoon, place in the cooling station until all the shrimp have been cooked.

Be careful not to overcrowd the pot by working in batches of a few shrimp at a time.

Once all the shrimp are cooked, serve warm and enjoy along with some tartar sauce or any of your favorite dipping sauces.

Tartar Sauce

Mix all the ingredients until thoroughly combined, season with salt and black pepper to taste, and serve in a dip bowl.
