Front View of Keto Chocolate Frosty

Satisfy your chocolate cravings the keto-friendly way with this ultra-creamy Keto Chocolate Frosty. Inspired by the classic fast-food treat, this frozen dessert is thick like soft-serve, sweet without added sugar, and comes together in just minutes. Perfect for a quick low-carb dessert, afternoon pick-me-up, or post-workout indulgence.

How to describe the taste and consistency of a Chocolate Frosty? It's a hybrid of a chocolate shake that meets chocolate ice cream—smooth, rich, creamy, and velvety textures of a halfway-frozen shake and undeniably delicious. Using a powdered sugar alternative and unsweetened cocoa powder instantly becomes a sugar-free Keto Frosty with less than 3/4 of the total net carbs of a traditional frosty. Of course, you will need to set aside time for it to set up in the freezer for 30 minutes, but it's worth it.

Cocoa is made of many nutritional components, including antioxidants; cocoa may even help put you in a good mood and lower your stress levels. So why wouldn't you want a Keto Chocolate Frosty in your life? 70% cocoa powder will give you the right amount of chocolaty flavor. If you can't locate 70% cocoa powder and will do, be sure it doesn't have any added sugar. Add some unsweetened protein powder or your favorite nut butter, and you have a powerful pick-me-up for any time of the day.

It’s smooth, rich, and chocolaty—with only 3.3g net carbs per serving! This recipe skips the sugar and still gives you that creamy, frosty texture you love.

  • Use chilled utensils and a bowl to help the cream whip faster.
  • Freeze for exactly 30 minutes—too long, and it’ll harden too much.
  • Try 70% cocoa or higher for the best flavor and minimal carbs.

  • Serve in a frosted glass with a wide straw for that nostalgic frosty feel.
  • Top with a sprinkle of unsweetened cocoa nibs or sugar-free chocolate shavings.
  • Pair it with keto cookies for an extra-decadent dessert.

  • Swap Cream: Use full-fat canned coconut milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Add Protein: Stir in unflavored or chocolate keto protein powder.
  • Flavor Twist: Add a pinch of cinnamon or instant espresso for a mocha version.

  • Short-Term: Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the freezer for up to 2 days. Let it sit at room temp for a few minutes before serving again.
  • Avoid Refreezing: The texture may become icy instead of creamy if refrozen more than once.

  • Heavy Whipping Cream – Creates the creamy, whipped texture.
  • Unsweetened 70% Cocoa Powder – Adds deep chocolate flavor without sugar.
  • Powdered Sugar Alternative – Keeps it sweet without the carbs.
  • Vanilla Essence – Adds smooth, balanced flavor.

How many carbs in keto frosty?

3.3 grams of net carbs are in a keto frosty.

Is keto Frosty healthy?

Choosing to make a sugar-free keto frosty is healthier than having a high-sugar frosty.

Can you have heavy whipping cream on keto diet?

Yes, you can have whipped cream on a keto diet. However, whipped cream is high in fat and cholesterol, so you may want to limit your portions per week.

How to Make Keto Chocolate Frosty

Begin by placing chilled heavy cream in a large mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer on low speed to whip the cream until soft peaks form.

Next, add in the powdered sugar alternative, unsweetened cocoa powder, and vanilla essence. Mix again until fully combined and smooth.

Wrap the bowl with cling film and freeze the mixture for 30 minutes. Once chilled, give it a final whip to fluff it up.

Serve immediately in chilled glasses for that perfect frosty texture and enjoy!

Can I use regular sugar instead?

Not if you want to keep it keto. Use a powdered sugar alternative like erythritol or monk fruit.

What can I use if I don’t have a hand mixer?

A blender on low speed works too, but stop blending as soon as soft peaks form.
