Are you looking for something to throw on the grill besides hamburgers, hot dogs, or chicken? Try our Grilled Salmon Teriyaki! It's loaded with unbelievable flavor because you marinate it for up to 8 hours. We served the grilled salmon teriyaki with steamed vegetables, but if you want a more filling side, try our Instant Pot brown rice, microwaved sweet potato, or air-fryer potatoes.
*Note the nutrition information does not include the steamed vegetables.
How long should I grill a piece of salmon?
Depending on the thickness of the salmon, it can take 4–6 minutes per side.
Do you have to flip salmon on the grill?
Sometimes, people don't agree with flipping salmon, while others do. Flipping salmon is optional; you don't have to flip salmon. However, if you want both sides of the salmon to have grill marks, definitely flip the salmon!
Is it better to grill salmon in foil or not?
It doesn't matter as long as you prepare the salmon correctly. Foil does help keep the salmon moist when it's on the grill and prevents it from sticking to the grill or falling apart. However, you can still end up with tender, flaky salmon that does not fall apart if you prepare it correctly.
How do you know when to flip salmon?
The side of the salmon that's closest to the heat will develop a pinkish, almost white color. When half of the fillet is this pinkish-white color, it's time to flip the salmon over.
