This simple yet ultra-flavorful Dumpling Sauce is made of soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, chili flakes, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, toasted sesame seeds, and fresh scallions whisked together, creating unbeatable umami tastes with every bite. Dumpling sauce can also be used for spring rolls, added to rice dishes, or as a salad dressing; make a big batch and keep it in the fridge for any occasion. 

What vinegar is used for dumplings?

This recipe contains rice wine vinegar however red wine vinegar, plum vinegar and black vinegar are often used for dumpling sauce. 

How many dumplings do I need for one person?

4-6 small dumplings per person is a good and filling amount for an appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Rice Wine Vinegar

  • 1 small clove Garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, minced

  • 1/4 teaspoon Chili Flakes 

  • 1 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Oil 

  • 1 teaspoon Honey

  • 1 tablespoon Scallions 

  • 1 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Seeds

Instructions

Whisk all the ingredients together in a bowl. Serve in a dipping dish with fresh dumplings or any of your favorite dishes.
