And they're topped with crispy sesame seeds for added texture. Don't be surprised if these "sausage" rolls disappear right before your eyes! Ingredients

  • 4 Vegan Sausages such as Field Roast's Smoked Apple Sage

  • 1 teaspoon Olive Oil

  • 1 Onion, diced

  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup Bread Crumbs

  • 1/4 teaspoon Dried Rosemary

  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper

  • 2 sheets Vegan Puff Pastry, thawed

  • 1 teaspoon Vegan Margarine, melted

  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 °F.

Using a food processor, process the vegan sausages until crumbled.

To a large skillet, add olive oil over medium-high heat.

Once olive oil is hot, add onions and garlic. Sauté for about 2 to 3 minutes.

Add vegan sausage, bread crumbs, dried rosemary, salt, and pepper, mixing well. Remove from heat.

Lay one sheet of puff pastry on the counter.

Cut one sheet of puff pastry into 3 pieces using a pizza cutter, then cut each piece in half lengthwise. You should end up with six squares of puff pastry.

Repeat this process with the 2nd sheet of puff pastry.

Using a cookie scoop, divide the puff pastry filling into 12.

Using some water, dab one edge of each puff pastry square

Place puff pastry filling onto the puff pastry square and roll tightly. Then press at the end to close the seam.

Put the sausage roll, seam side down on a stainless sheet baking sheet. Repeat this process with the rest of the pastry filling and puff pastry.

Using a silicone brush, brush the melted vegan margarine on the top of the sausage rolls.

Sprinkle sausage rolls with sesame seeds.

Bake for 25 minutes until golden-brown.

Serve with sugar-free ketchup or your favorite vegan dipping sauce.
