Sometimes you crave waffles, but they can be loaded with many carbs. You can still have waffles without all those carbs if you replace traditional flour with almond flour. These Almond Flour Waffles are naturally keto and so easy to make. You can serve them with almonds, chopped unsweetened chocolate, sugar-free syrup, or any toppings you desire. These almond flour waffles will make the perfect breakfast or brunch.

There are 11 grams carbs and 5 grams of net carbs in these almond flour waffles. 
 

How healthy is almond flour?

Almond flour is very healthy. It contains high levels of vitamin E, manganese, and other antioxidants. These nutrients give almond flour the ability to decrease the risk of severe heart disease, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and stroke. 
 

Should you refrigerate almond flour?

Refrigerating almond flour is not necessary. You should be fine if you use the almond flour before its expiration date. However, keeping the almond flour at cold temperatures will extend its shelf life.

  • 1 cup blanched Almond Flour
     

  • 1 teaspoon Xanthan Gum (optional)
     

  • 1/4 cup Sugar-Free Sweetener 
     

  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
     

  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
     

  • 1 teaspoon Orange Zest 
     

  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt 
     

  • 2 large Eggs
     

  • 6 tablespoons Butter, melted 
     

  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
     

  • 1/4 cup Milk 

  • 1/4 cup Whole Almonds, for garnish 
     

  • 2 oz. Unsweetened Chocolate chopped, for garnish

Instructions

How to

Preheat your waffle maker.

Whisk the almond flour, xanthan gum, sugar-free sweetener, baking powder, cinnamon, orange zest, and salt in a medium bowl until combined.

Whisk the eggs, butter, vanilla extract and milk in a small bowl until combined.

Add the batter mixture to the almond flour mixture and mix until combined.

Coat your waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray and add 1/4-1/2 cup of the waffle batter to the waffle iron. Cook the almond flour waffle according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Set aside the cooked Almond Waffles on a cooling rack and continue cooking the rest of the waffle batter.

Transfer the Almond Waffles to a platter. Top with almonds and/or chocolate chips. Best served with coffee or tea.
