Nothing says summer like barbecue chicken wings. But you could miss out on backyard fun if you don't have a grill. But don't worry: You can still enjoy the summer weather with these Barbecue Chicken Wings. That's because they're baked in the oven instead of on the grill. And they're lip-smacking good; they're juicy and tender on the inside and sticky on the outside. Once baked until crispy, we coated the wings with a homemade barbecue sauce made of ketchup, yellow mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and cayenne pepper, a nice balance of sweetness, savory, umami, and heat. Serve with cut-up veggies like celery and carrots.

Note: To make these barbecue chicken wings gluten-free, use gluten-free Worcestershire sauce.

How long does it take to barbecue chicken wings?

It takes 65 minutes to barbecue chicken wings (prep and cook time included).

Do you put sauce on wings before or after grilling?

You put sauce on wings after grilling so that the sugars in the sauce don't burn on the grill.

Why add butter to hot wing sauce?

Do air fryers work for chicken wings?

Yes, they do. Air fryers make the wings juicy and tender inside yet extra crispy on the outside.
