Passion Fruit Sauce is a great condiment for any grilled or steamed fish dish. This syrup-like sauce is made from the pulp of fresh Passion fruit and seasoned with local Caribbean green seasoning. Impress your guests at your next dinner party with this tangy Passion Fruit Sauce drizzled on top of a beautifully grilled Salmon fillet.
200 ml Passion Fruit Pulp
1 Teaspoon Green seasoning
1 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter
1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Honey
Salt and Pepper to taste
Divide the passion fruit into halves and using a spoon thoroughly remove the pulp.
Place the pulp into a strainer and using the back of a spoon press the pulp through to remove the seeds.
Alternatively you can purchase seedless pulp.
Passion fruit Nectar is also an option.
Into a saucepan on medium heat add the butter and oil and cook until the butter is melted.
Add to the butter and oil mixture the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
Add salt and pepper to taste and cook down until the sauce has reached your desired texture.
Serve on top of or alongside any grilled or steamed fish dish.
