While there are many delicious keto ground beef recipes, there's nothing like a slice of keto lasagna. You won't notice the difference between the noodles with the delicious layers of meat sauce, salty Parmesan cheese, stretchy mozzarella cheese, and tender zucchini you will be eating. You will be so satisfied with this delicious meal that this keto ground beef version will become your new favorite dish.

Is ground beef part of a keto diet?

Yes, ground beef is a part of the keto diet. However, since there are many kinds of ground beef, the type of beef you need will depend on the recipe. For example, leaner cuts such as 95% ground beef are best for casseroles, lasagnas, or stir-fries. On the other hand, 80/20 beef or fattier ground beef is best for meatballs and burgers.

Is ground beef good for weight loss?

Lean ground beef is best for weight loss. It will help you feel satiated after your meal.

Can ground beef make you gain weight?

Ground beef contains a substantial amount of fat. In particular, ground beef is high in saturated fat, adding additional calories to your diet and ultimately causing you to gain weight. Therefore, you should consume ground beef in moderation and consume lean ground beef when possible.

Instructions

To a deep skillet, add ground beef and set it over a medium-high flame. Cook the ground beef for 7-8 minutes, breaking it into smaller chunks with a wooden spoon until most of the oil is cooked off.
Stir in the onions and bell peppers and cook it for 3-4 minutes until the onions soften.
Stir in the garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper, and cook it for a minute until fragrant.
Add the marinara sauce to the ground beef mixture and stir to combine. Decrease the flame to medium-low and simmer the marinara sauce for 10 minutes, periodically stirring until the sauce sticks to the meat.
Stir in the basil, oregano, Italian seasoning, remaining salt, cayenne pepper, and paprika, and cook the meat sauce for 1 minute.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Layer 1/3 of the sliced zucchini in the bottom of an 8 by 8-inch oven-safe dish. It's ok if the zucchini slices overlap a bit. Add half of the meat sauce on top of the zucchini and spread it into an even layer.
Add 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese on top of the meat sauce, and add 1/3 of the zucchini slices on top.
Add another layer of meat sauce and mozzarella cheese and top with the remaining zucchini slices.
Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top of the zucchini.
Bake the keto ground beef lasagna for 45 minutes until golden brown.
Let the keto ground beef lasagna cool for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
