This recipe for Beef Stroganoff will allow you to keep on the Keto path and still enjoy this delicious dish. We have made sure this recipe is full of flavor with fresh herbs, seasoning, mushrooms, garlic, onions, beef broth, sour cream and thin strips of beef sirloin that will be so comforting. In addition, this Keto Beef Stroganoff goes great with some keto zucchini noodles or cauliflower rice to bring you even closer to the authentic dish.

Can I have beef stroganoff on keto?

Yes you can! Enjoy beef stroganoff on its own, on a bed of vegetable noodles, over miracle rice or noodles or any of your favorite keto side dishes. 

How can I thicken beef stroganoff without flour?

The sour cream that is added to beef stroganoff will naturally thicken the sauce. If it's still too thin for your preference, whisk in a small amount of xanthan gum to thicken the sauce.

How do you make keto stroganoff sauce?

Keto stroganoff sauce is made with onions, garlic, mushrooms, beef stock & sour cream. Add in fresh thyme or parsley as well as some red pepper flakes if you enjoy some heat.

Place a large deep skillet on medium heat with 1 tablespoon of oil, and once the oil is hot, add the sliced beef and sauté for 3 minutes using a pair of tongs to rotate and brown the meat. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Add another tablespoon of oil and the mushrooms and sauté for 3 minutes allowing the water from the mushrooms to evaporate. Add the onions and sauté for 2 more minutes before adding the garlic to the pan. 

Add the beef back to the pan along with the red pepper flakes, chopped thyme, beef stock, worcestershire sauce, heavy cream and simmer for 3 minutes before stirring in the Dijon mustard and sour cream. 

Season with salt and black pepper & thoroughly combine everything together, remove from the heat add the chopped parsley and serve warm on a plate with your choice of Keto- friendly sides.
