Detoxing involves refraining from foods for a certain amount of time to remove toxic or unhealthy materials from the body. Chicken Detox Soup is the perfect soup to eat to detoxify your body. It's filled with healthy ingredients that will get rid of unhealthy substances in the body. For example, it contains garlic which is a great source of allicin. Allicin encourages the generation of white blood cells and plays a role in fighting toxins in the body. The soup also contains carrot, the antioxidant carotenoids that help detoxify the body, and broccoli, a substance called glucoraphanin that rids the body of harmful chemicals like acrolein and benzene. Best of all, not only is this chicken detox soup good for you, but it also tastes delicious. So, whether you are feeling unwell, want to boost your immunity, or lose a few pounds, pull out your largest soup pot and make this chicken detox soup.

Yes, chicken detox soup can help you lose weight. Chicken breast is a lean source of protein, making it the perfect type of meat for weight loss. Broccoli is rich in fiber, keeping you nice and full and decreasing the calories you consume. Carrots can also increase feelings of fullness, leading to subsequent weight loss.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 tablespoons Olive Oil

     

  • 1 small White Onion, diced

     

  • 4 stalks Celery, diced

     

  • 2 tablespoons Garlic Paste

     

  • 2 tablespoons Ginger Paste 

     

  • 3 Carrots, peeled, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds

     

  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder

     

  • 5 cups Low-Sodium Chicken Broth

     

  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice 

     

  • 1 teaspoon Salt 

     

  • 1/2 teaspoon White Pepper 

     

  • 2 boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts

     

  • 1 large head of Broccoli, cut into florets 

  • 1/4 cup Parsley Leaves * optional for garnish 

Instructions

To a Dutch oven pot, add a tablespoon of olive oil, and set it over medium-high heat.

Add the onions and celery and cook for 3-5 minutes until the onions soften.

Stir in the garlic and ginger paste and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Stir in the carrots and turmeric and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chicken broth, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and chicken breast and stir to combine.

Bring the chicken detox soup to a boil.

Once the chicken detox soup comes to a boil, decrease the flame to medium-low, cover it, and cook for 15-20 minutes until the chicken breast is cooked.

Remove the chicken breasts from the chicken detox soup using a pair of tongs and place them onto a cutting board. Then add the broccoli florets and cook for 8-10 minutes until the broccoli florets are tender.

While cooking the broccoli, use two forks to shred the chicken breasts.

Return the shredded chicken breast to the chicken detox soup, stir to combine, and cook for 2 minutes until heated.

Divide the chicken detox soup between 5 soup bowls and garnish each bowl of soup with 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil and parsley, nutritiously paired with cinnamon tea
